He came to the united states when 27 years of age. Landed in Quebec, Canada, then came to Chicago, from there he went to New Orleans, worked in Louisiana and Mississippi until 1852, when he came to Davenport Iowa. Worked for different parties for two years then bought a farm of 80 acres in Butler Township were he remained until 1867 when he sold the farm and purchased 160 acres in Lincoln township, his present residence. His land is worth $75 acre and is well improved. He is one of the representative farmers of Scott County. Mr. Bostian married in 1856 to Frederica Shultz, they have two children, Anna M., married to John Peters and lives on a farm in this township; and Laura. In politics Mr. Bostian is a republican.
