Clements James Brandenburg was born on November 21, 1920 at Luverne, Minnesota to James Henry and Anna Pauline Meyer Brandenburg. He attended country school near Luverne then worked on the family farm with his father until age 15. In 1937, the Brandenburg's moved to Iowa where Clem worked for various farmers. He married Irma Neppl on January 16, 1946 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Estherville, Iowa. In 1948, they moved to a farm southeast of Armstrong and lived there until moving into Bancroft in 1983.Clem continued to farm that farm until his death.

 

Clem enjoyed fishing, playing snooker and cribbage. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Bancroft and the Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th Degree Knight.

 

Clem died on Saturday morning, October 30, 1999 at the Fairmont Community Hospital in Fairmont, Minnesota of a short illness at the age of 78. Survivors include his wife Irma of Bancroft; children, Anna Brandenburg - Schroeder and Dr. Richard Wright of Lakewood, Colorado; David Brandenburg and wife Melinda of Belle Vista, Arkansas; Bernard Brandenburg and wife Rose of Ash  Flat Arkansas: Lea Dau and husband Arlen of Cumberland, Rhode Island; Neil Brandenburg wife Jane of Fenton, Iowa; Lora Rahe and husband Tim of New UIm, Minnesota; Alan Brandenburg wife Jane of Swea City, Iowa and Wenda Buchholz and husband Steven of Bellevue, Nebraska.  Also surviving are 32 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brother, James Brandenburg and wife Janet of Owatonna, Minnesota, sister, Dorothy Jones and husband Ken of Castle Rock, Colorado and daughter -in-law, Kristi Brandenburg of Armstrong, Iowa. Clem was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Fabian, one sister, Helen Houseman and one son, Stephen on February 2, 1996.

Robert "Bob" Joseph Baustian, 41, El Cajon, Calif., formerly of Luverne, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, in his home.

 

Services were Saturday, Jan. 11, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. The Rev. Andrew Beerman officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

 

Robert Baustian was born to Lester and Leora (Schievelbein) Baustian, on Aug. 25, 1961, in Luverne. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. He graduated from Hills-Beaver Creek High School in 1980. He was active in the wrestling program in school.

 

He married Rose Boll in 1980 at St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne. The couple later divorced. He attended Lakes Area Vo-Tech Airline Mechanic School in Watertown, S.D.

 

He entered the U.S. Navy in March 1983. He served as crew chief as a specialist mechanic on jet engines for more than 13 years. After the Navy, he joined the Army National Guard where he was head mechanic in the tank division. He had only five months left until a 20-year retirement. He recently worked as a mechanic on trucks and buses for Sterling Ford Motor Company in Miramar, Calif.

 

Mr. Baustian loved hiking, fishing and scuba diving with his two daughters. He was always joking.

Robert "Bob" Joseph Baustian, 41, El Cajon, Calif., formerly of Luverne, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, in his home.

 

Services were Saturday, Jan. 11, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. The Rev. Andrew Beerman officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

 

Robert Baustian was born to Lester and Leora (Schievelbein) Baustian, on Aug. 25, 1961, in Luverne. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. He graduated from Hills-Beaver Creek High School in 1980. He was active in the wrestling program in school.

 

He married Rose Boll in 1980 at St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne. The couple later divorced. He attended Lakes Area Vo-Tech Airline Mechanic School in Watertown, S.D.

 

He entered the U.S. Navy in March 1983. He served as crew chief as a specialist mechanic on jet engines for more than 13 years. After the Navy, he joined the Army National Guard where he was head mechanic in the tank division. He had only five months left until a 20-year retirement. He recently worked as a mechanic on trucks and buses for Sterling Ford Motor Company in Miramar, Calif.

 

Mr. Baustian loved hiking, fishing and scuba diving with his two daughters. He was always joking.
