After the Flood
After the water started going down we got back in the cabin and started the cleanup. All the work done getting stuff up off of the floor before the water got in the cabin really paid off. I removed the bottom 2 rows of tongue and groove and removed the wet insulation. A few weeks later after it had dried out, I replaced the insulation and capped it with a 2X10. I also replaced the vinyl, put everything back in place and it was as good as new.
The water is receding, time to start the cleanup.
The flood water was pretty clean but it did leave a stain. I replaced the vinyl and removed the bottom two rows of T&G.
No smell, no mold, just like new. I put up a ceiling fan and let it run for a few weeks after I removed the T&G as well as leaving the doors and windows open. I also left the windows open while there was water in the cabin.
It will take a while to get the yard looking good again. It was under water for a good month. The wood pile was scattered all over the woods, some of it gone for good.
