Some Old Pictures From Days Gone By

Some Winni Walleyes

This picture was taken in about 1934. My dad is on the left and Alvin Wold is on the right. I'm not sure who the guy is in the middle. Check out the nice boots. I'm not sure, but it's my guess they got these while serving with the Civilian Conservation Corps.

Big Northern

I'm not sure where this was taken but it looks like about the early 50s, somewhere in Minnesota, possibly Cass Lake

The pictures below were taken on Crow Lake Ontario. They are not too clear but my dad had a good story to go with them. The big guy on the left picture of the middle row is Alvin Wold. The same guy in the picture on the top of the page. The story was not real clear but some how the wind came up on the lake and the guide said they would have to walk back to the resort because the lake would be too rough to take the boat. Alvin didn't think that he could make the walk, so him and my dad were going to take the boat back against the guides advice. When they got out on the main part of the lake, it was so bad they had to pull up onto the first island they came to. The temperatures were dropping and the rain was changing to snow. They turned the boat over and took shelter under it for the night. My dad said he had warm clothes but Alvin was not well dressed and he got really cold. From the resort they could see the boat overturned on the island and thought the worst. In the morning the winds had let up and the guide made it out to the island. He was so mad he wouldn't let them take their fish with them and said they would have to leave and to never come back to the resort.
